Young Whitetail Buck still has Velvet Antlers

This young buck with velvet antlers and a large whitetail doe visited our deer feeder in the morning before Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana. Although much of Louisiana was ravished by Hurricane Katrina and later by Hurricane Rita, the upcoming whitetail deer hunting season looks very optimistic. We have seen record numbers of whitetail bucks and does throughout the states of Louisiana and Mississippi. On any given afternoon, deer can be observed feeding on our planted fields.
