Whitetail Bucks Grow Velvet Antlers

It's May in Louisiana and whitetail bucks are growing velvet antlers. There is only an inch or two of velvet now, but the velvet growth will really take-off in June. Velvet antler growth could be six inches in June or July. In September, the velvet antlers peak and by October, the velvet sheds to let through the boney antlers.
