Deer Stand Mosquito Bites
mosquito dateline: Monday, March 2, 2007 at 5:05 pm
I hate deer hunting when the mosquitoes (Anopheles gambiae) are out and biting! In the fall, during deer bow season in Louisiana, the mosquitoes are usually very active. It really sucks, sitting in the deer stand while the mosquitoes are making a pin cushion out of you. The female mosquito is a blood sucker and is attracted to CO2. I got bit by a mosquito on Friday evening. Unfortunately, mosquitoes in Louisiana are carriers of the West Nile Virus. I came down with a fever, headache and chills Sunday afternoon. Coincidental, or is it West Nile? It's amazing: the symptoms of West Nile are very similar to the symptoms of Lyme disease . posted at 5:36 PM
