Whitetail Buck Moves at Mid-day

Midday Buck buckcam: Tuesday, Dec 12, 2006 at 1:34 pm

This yearling whitetail buck is out for a mid-afternoon stroll and bite to eat (deer corn). The whitetail buck is a year and a half old (1.5 years) and has a broken-off right antler. The whitetail buck would probably be a six point if not for the broken antler.

This is the time of the whitetail deer rut where bucks can be seen moving at mid-day. At first the younger whitetail buck yearlings can be seen moving at midday, then a couple of weeks later, the older, larger whitetail bucks sometimes move in mid-afternoon. The peak of the whitetail rutt in Louisiana is between Christmas and New Years.
