2005 Whitetail Eight-point Buck

buck harvest dateline: Kentwood, LA, January 9, 2005 at 5:47 PM

I hunted all day yesterday, so this Sunday morning I slept-in. What a great day to sleep; it was a foggy morning when I awoke. I finally was ready to roll around noon.

Weather conditions were overcast, 60 degrees and wind from the south at 3 knots

1230 depart home
1330 arrived in Kentwood and setup decoy in field
1448 refill feeder
1500 up in the deer stand
1535 Sandra rides by with pony
1622 moonset
1718 sunset
1746 eight point buck walking N toward Aunt Helen's house
1747 Bang! Shoot at 200 yds. Buck drops to ground
1748 climb down out of stand

live weight = 215 lbs (98 lbs of meat)

What a great Sunday evening hunt!
